    • '80: Dana 300 introduced as an option, manual lock-out hubs become standard (they were an option previously)
    • '81: Dana 300 changed mid-year, last year for the 304 V8 engine option
    • '82: shoulder belts introduced, axles widened mid-year, computer-controlled carb, hard door handle and latch changed mid-year
    • '86: final model year, some units came from the factory with Dana 44's in the rear and galvanized body parts
  • CJ8 - 81-86
    The CJ8 (Scrambler) is an extended version of the CJ7, with a longer wheelbase and larger rear overhang. As with the CJ5/CJ6 relationship, the mechanical options are the same for CJ7 and 8 of the same model years.
